Policies:
The program has written policies
This program accepts purebred Golden Retrievers and primarily Golden mixes (90/10 mix). Focus is on both owner surrenders and dogs from shelters
Program takes ownership of the dog upon intake.
Program uses Foster Homes (and Boarding facility when foster homes are filled to capacity)
Program requires Home Visit before adoption approval. Reference checks will be done with applicant’s veterinarian on past and present pets,
Dogs are observed and evaluated before adoption.
Dogs are microchipped before adoption
Program follows up with adopter after placement.
Program requires return of the dog if adopter cannot keep.
All dogs are spayed/neutered before adoption (unless medically contraindicated)
All dogs receive all vaccines and regionally appropriate tests before adoption.
Program participates in community awareness events, and holds events for adopters and foster homes
