This program accepts Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes,
This program has no application fee.
This program will adopt out of their area under special circumstances only and if a volunteer can either complete the home visit or is a person known to a member in good standing or is a previous adopter.
Program takes ownership of the dog upon intake.
Program requires the return of the dog to the program if the adopter cannot keep it.
Program follows up with adopter after placement.
Dogs are observed and evaluated before adoption.
All dogs are spayed/neutered before placement (unless medically contraindicated)
All dogs have all tests (heartworm, fecal and other regionally-appropriate tests) before adoption. All dogs receive all vaccines before adoption
Other: program requires potential adopters to meet the dog in the foster environment and the foster home volunteer decides if this is a good match.
Program has a ”permanent foster” program and is developing a Seniors program.
Considerations for Intake/Surrender: Dogs from shelters are given first priority and owner surrendered dogs are accepted when there is space available.
