501(C)(3) program, the program is insured, complies with state requirements, officers and directors are appointed.
Program has written policies
Program uses Foster homes and Boarding kennels only when necessary
Accepts purebred Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes only.
Program adopts out of area (places in New Mexico as well as working closely GR rescue programs in New Mexico and Arizona)
Program requires return of the dog to the program if adopter cannot keep him/her.
Takes ownership of the dog upon intake.
Requires Home Visit before adoption approval.
Follows up with adopter after placement
Dogs are observed and evaluated before adoption.
All dogs are spayed/neutered before placement. (unless medically contraindicated)
Dogs receive all vaccines (Rabies, Dhlpp and any other regionally-appropriate vaccines) before adoption.
Dogs have all tests (heartworm, fecal and other regionally-appropriate tests) before adoption.
Other requirements of adoption:
Adopters must complete and sign Agreement to all terms and conditions imposed by GRREP including but not limited to keeping the dog inside as part of the family.
Program accepts and places Golden Retrievers of all ages. Goldens accepted by the program must be adoptable and display no aggressive tendencies.
